Efficient Scrapbooking Strategies for Scrappers

Efficient Scrapbooking Strategies for Scrappers

Posted by Olivia Sum on

Scrapbooking can be a time consuming project, especially for those living fast-paced lives. Lucky for you, I’ve compiled a number of different strategies to promote efficiency in your scrapbooking, even if you only have a spare 15 minutes to do it. When scrapbooking feels too time consuming, many people can get burnt out and start to treat fun projects like chores that no one wants to do.

Some people fit their hobby around their schedule, however many people only have handfuls of spare moments to sit back and relax with their scrapbook kit. With these tips, you’ll have no trouble creating scrapbook pages.

Tips for Quick Scrapbooking

  1. Be Prepared

Prepare yourself ahead of time to keep yourself from wasting precious minutes of your time. One of the best ways to be prepared is to have your pictures printed and ready to go. Many people keep regular albums for pictures they aren’t too inclined to show off in a scrapbook, while selecting a few special photos to put on the page. Simply select the ones you like the best, and order prints. You can be prepared even more by stocking up on the required supplies.

Have plenty of rose scrapbook paper, along with the other variety of patterns you may need, along with stickers, ink, decorations and anything else you may need to decorate your scrapbook. You can get paper pre-cut in varying sizes so you don’t have to make too many altercations to sizes. Of course, you need to make sure you have the appropriate glue for the projects you’ll be tackling. You can get dots and lines of glue to make it easier and less messy to glue pictures and pages onto your scrapbook paper.

  1. Stay Organized

Organization is a key point in scrapbooking easily and quickly. If you’re less organized, you’ll spend more time hunting down your paper, materials, decorations and even scrapbooks. Take a little bit of time to organize everything when you get the materials to save a lot of time later on when you’re ready to work. You can build a folder that holds all of your photos, as well as one for your various scrapbook papers, such as rose scrapbook paper and other classy patterns.

Don’t forget to have a pack of variously colored solid papers. You can use a box with dividers to hold your markers, pens, stickers and other decorative materials in a safe place. You can make notes of what paper is for what, as well as which pictures go with what event, and store it all in a single place to allow a quick grab and go.

  1. Plan your Pages

Develop a system to pre-plan your pages to save extra time as you design and develop them. Start by thinking about upcoming events and bringing your camera to them to take many different photos. Be sure to have some that include everyone at the event, even group photos. Bring memorabilia, such as brochures and other things to remind you of details. Sort through the photos and organize them before choosing a few choice ones for the layout.

Consider how many pages your photos will cover, and make a note of different layouts you like. Plan out your layouts several pages at once to save time. Choose papers, such as rose scrapbook paper, and play with placement options. Jot down page ideas and look for new ideas before sketching out a rough example of your layout. Store the layout until later when you need it by keeping it organized in a folder of pre-planned layouts.

Planning your project out ahead of time provides a number of benefits to the busy scrapper. You’ll be able to easily bypass “scrapper’s block” since you’ll be able to freely choose new pages to work on. You’ll save time by having several layouts prepared at a time, minimizing the extra steps that you’d need to take to create your scrapbook. You won’t lose the new ideas you come up with because they’ll be laid out before you in completion.

You can also keep your work area clean and free of clutter. You won’t have to go digging through everything, creating a haphazard mess in the work area that often proves to be a hassle to put away later. You’ll have a lot more fun creating your scrapbook, and it will definitely feel much less like work. Ideas will come together quickly and creatively, often resulting in a better scrapbook page in the end.
